A New Home Search

After several years of diligently saving money, I’m nearly ready to purchase my first home. Because I’ve been thinking about buying a home for so long, I know exactly what I want my house to look like. I desire a place that has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. I also need a quiet space to set up my home office in. I want a massive, walk-in closet in my master bedroom. My master bathroom needs to have double vanities, a tiled, walk-in shower, and a Jacuzzi tub. On this blog, I hope you will discover how to set priorities during your new home search. Enjoy!

Love Holidays? Buy The Perfect Home For Decorating

Elli Jokela

If you are someone who loves most or all holidays you may also enjoy decorating your home. Living in a rental can come with quite a few limitations regarding your ability to decorate. For instance, you may not have much storage space to create a large collection for all the holidays.

When you are finished with renting and want to start looking at houses for sale, you should consider all the features that will help you with decorating for holidays throughout the year.

Bay Window

One of the best features that you can get is a bay window, especially one that faces the front of the home. This will allow you to put all sorts of decorations on display. The reason this feature shines is because your entire family, neighbors, and pedestrians will get to enjoy your work.

During the holiday season, you can put up a Christmas tree near the bay window and open any window treatments in the evening before turning on the lights. When you combine this with all the decorations that you put up outside, you can make your home stand out in the neighborhood.

Multi-Story

Going with a multi-story home is great for decorations because you can put a lot of the pieces where they are visible from anywhere. For instance, hanging up lights on the second story makes them more visible to everyone in the neighborhood compared to the ones on the first floor. You can also use the windows on the second story to get creative with your holiday displays.

Landscape

If you want to live in a home that is perfect for decorating, you may want to avoid overcrowded landscapes without much line of sight to the house. While some shrubs and trees are great because they can provide you with opportunities to hang up decorations or string up lights, you do not want them to be blocking your home's beautiful displays from the street or sidewalk.

Neighborhood

Finding the right neighborhood may not be an easy thing to do, but you cannot go wrong with looking for neighborhoods that get involved with the holidays. You may love the idea of being able to participate in a neighborhood-wide event where you can show off your decorations.

When you are willing to take your time searching through homes, you should feel confident about your ability to buy one that meets or exceeds your needs for holiday decorating.
